Laser Construction Level

A Construction Level consists of a self-leveling platform and a rotating laser device.  Commonly a concrete base or plinth is built in the middle of the construction floor on which the instrument is placed.  A surveyor accurately   establishes the height of the instrument centerline.  When it is turned on, it first self-levels.  Then, the laser-head spins, painting a red line on all the walls and columns and, of course, on a tradesman's tape measure.  So when the drawings call for the 'finished floor' to be 3 ft below 'datum' the carpenter can measure down 3 ft from the red line.
"So you're saying a self leveling platform?  Whaddya got, some new kind of  sensor to detect level, that no-one's ever heard of before?"

?

Yes indeed, that's what I'm saying.  Read on...!!
